Ariel Motion Video Analyzer is an exciting way to provide advanced motion analysis to a large number of students, without the huge costs associated to educational visual analysis.

Students can rent a fully featured MotionCoach application license for the time that they need it, on a per semester basis.

This style of licensing provides schools the most flexible way to provide their students with the best tools in the market and pay for only what they need.

MotionCoach Flex eliminates the costs of populating ICT suites with software that is only required some of the time.

It is simple by design, and crafted to easily fit into the standard school IT facilities.

Students download the MotionCoach Flex installation program directly from the MotionCoach servers, and install the software on their computers; Flex is NOT a web based application; the application unlocking system only requires periodic interfacing to the internet.

The first time they run MotionCoach Flex a friendly window pops up asking them to register their software. The student is linked to a Web page where they enter their name, e-mail address, MachineCode and license serial number.

MotionCoach CustomerCare staff receives the information and add the student’s computer ID to the school’s license encrypted file. This file is accessible via the MotionCoach web site.

The school is e-mailed the student information to confirm that this is valid student and the student is e-mailed that their MotionCoach is unlocked.

The next time MotionCoach is started; it automatically downloads the school’s license encrypted file and tests for the correct unlocking number. If the unlocking code is present the software is unlocked for 14 days. During this 14-day period MotionCoach does not need to connect to the Internet.

Teachers and Coaches require MotionCoach for more extended time then students, so the Flex Teacher License is the solution for them. This is a permanent license that will unlock a single computer, with no time limit or expiry time.

A single one time charge of $400.00 per computer is low cost way for staff to add powerful Visual Analysis to their notebook computers. The teacher license also includes sample videos from a variety of sports and many example analysis templates to speed the customization of the solution to a coach’s needs.

The last part of the Flex License structure is the Site Membership. This is a one time fee to the sponsoring sporting body to enter the Flex program. The sponsoring body could be a University, a Sporting Body (i.e. Gymnastics Canada), or a coaching association. This $500 fee provides the serial number and support agreements that all users under that agreement will use.

This fee is non-repeating and no additional fees will be required no matter how many MotionCoach licenses are purchased under this program.

A single e-mail address!

That is it, and this e-mail address is only required for student validation, and communicating unlocking codes to the school.

All application transfer, data encryption, application lock management and file serving is handled by MotionCoach CustomerCare and MotionCoach web servers.

MotionCoach will provide the school an Access database application to help track how many licenses are used and which student is currently using a license. This database is similar to the database used by MotionCoach CustomerCare technicians.

MotionCoach software designers are expected to keep ahead and on top of your requirements.

Once your students have Motion analysis software at home, the next technical obstacle is to allow transfer of video and lesson files safely and securely between school and student homes.

To do this MotionCoach FLEX contains the most advanced Internet integration of any education software.

With MotionCoach VersionX and FLeX the product includes power video and lesson exchange features. Prior to Version X the simplest way to transfer videos and lessons has been via e-mail. The problem with e-mail is there a size limit of single messages and videos and lessons easily break these limits.

Other ways to transfer large lessons are via physical media (CD, Memory sticks, …) these are expensive and prone to being lost creating a security issue.

The new way to transfer lessons with MotionCoach is via two technologies based on standard internet protocol FTP. FTP is secure in that to access any file a user name and password are required and FTP was designed as an efficient way tp transfer large file over the internet.

The two MotionCoach technologies (@Coach, and @Link) add encryption and additional security to server access and simplify file transfer.

Above this the data transfer window that updates the user about the status of file transfer. File transfer occurs in the background. This transfer does not affect the performance of MotionCoach and does not block the user from using MotionCoach while files are transferring.

Because file transfer occurs in the background the sending computer can be used for its normal duties during the day and then left overnight to transfer any remaining files. Even if file transfer is interrupted MotionCoach will restart the transfer until successful.

This does not mean the user does not have control over the process, at anytime the user can stop/start the transfer and delete files from the transfer list if they wish.

At the school, an instructor can create a lesson including video and overlaid graphics and with a single mouse click, compress this lesson, transfer it to an Internet server and e-mail the student an "@Link" encrypted link file.

The @Link file contains the information required to download the lesson file. Only MotionCoach can decrypt the information contained in the file. The student at no time has the information to gain access to any other file except those they have been specifically given.

The @Link file is automatically created and placed as an attachment into an e-mail using the e-mail system installed on the coach’s computer. The coach only has to enter the students e-mail address.

The lesson file is placed in the queue to transfer to the internet.

To support video/lesson data transfer back to the school MotionCoach contains another file called @Coach. The @Coach file is also encrypted and contains the information required for a MotionCoach Flex system to transfer data directly to a school instructor. These @Coach files are small and can be e-mailed to all the students using MotionCoach Flex.

When using @Coach files the video and lesson information is securely transferred directly to the school web servers. After the transfer is complete an e-mail is automatically created, and directed to the instructor identified in the @Coach file. This way the instructor is specifically informed to which file has been transferred to them and which student it was from.

Before the e-mail is sent the student has a chance to change the data contained in the e-mail.

MotionCoach contains a @Coach Manager to create, import, and manage these @Coach files. When students receive @Coach files they can easily add them to their MotionCoach @Coach manager.

When added the student can easily choose from a list of @Coach files to transfer a file. @Coach files also contain a web site address, so students can confirm that the @Coach file is the correct one.

The @Coach facility can also simplify transfer files between schools. In this case a central school coach can select a series of videos that should be transferred to a school.

A key feature is multiple file transfer. If you wish to send 20 videos you simply select the file in the gallery, and export them. The same @Coach export parameters will be applied to all 20 files.
