Video capture
Converting analog video signals, such as those generated by a video camera,
into a digital format and then storing the digital video on a computer's mass
storage device.
- Video capture from analog devices requires a special video capture card
that converts the analog signals into digital form and compresses the data.
- There are also digital video devices that can capture images and
transfer them to a computer (DV).
In order to capture a motion segment of a video clip, one must store it in a
digital video format. Supported formats in APAS/Wizard are *.avi; *.mpg; *.wmv.
A captured digital video clip can be edited and played back on a computer
without the benefit of a video tape device.
