Kinematic clue

Definition

A kinematic clue is a combination of variables that describes data as a function of time:

Variable Description
Parameter
Parameter Requirements Description
Displacement 1 point Displacement of a single point
Position 1 point Position of a single point
Velocity 1 point Speed of a single point
Acceleration 1 point Acceleration of a single point
Projection angle 1 point Projection angle of a single point
Distance 1 segment, or
2 points
Distance between two points.
Angle 2 segments, or
4 points, or
1 segment and 2 points, or
1 segment and a reference vector, or
2 points and a reference vector
Angle between two segments.
Angular velocity 2 segments, or
4 points, or
1 segment and 2 points, or
1 segment and a reference vector, or
2 points and a reference vector
Angular velocity between two segments.
Angular acceleration 2 segments, or
4 points, or
1 segment and 2 points, or
1 segment and a reference vector, or
2 points and a reference vector
Angular acceleration between two segments.
Component
Component Description
X Value on X-axis
Y Value on Y-axis
Z Value on Z-axis
All Combined value in 3 dimensions
Points 1 - 4 points
Segments 1 or 2 segments
Reference vectors Reference vector and an optional look at vector

Examples
