Balance Protocol

Examinee is escorted to Ground Reaction Force Plate. The Examiner initiates the APAS Analog program by double clicking the Analog Module:

Setup

1. Instrument: APAS analog program and Force Plate
2. Instructions to Examinee: Stand relaxed on the force plate and follow my instructions.
3. Recording the data: Conduct test as below and record data as instructed.

Data collection

1. When Analog Module Opens, select file, select open, select appropriate template for your facility.
2. Select File, Select Save As and save the file as the Examinee�s last name. Place the new analog file in the Examinee�s folder.
3. Settings for balance are as below (Select Target) (Trig= EMG, Time= 10sec, Trig Lev= -5):
4. Select Zero Button to right of target.
5. Instruct Examinee to stand on force plate.
6. Select Center Button to right of target.
7. Instruct Examinee to stand quiet on two feet, without speaking.
8. Select Begin. (Program collects balance COP data for 10 seconds.
9. Upon completion, select Report.
10. Note total sway distance and record on Examinee�s data sheet.
11. Repeat above for protocols: Eyes Closed, Right Foot Only, Left Foot Only.
